This post will explore different ways that we may already know and some new ones on why choosing healthy foods is important not only for our physical well-being but also because they have mental benefits too.

The brain needs glucose in order to function properly. The glucose comes from the food we eat and is stored in the form of glycogen in our liver, muscles, and brain cells .

When you don’t have enough glucose to support your mental functions, it can lead to feelings of fatigue, hunger or a lackadaisical attitude as well as impaired memory function. That’s why it pays not only to think about what you’re eating but also how often you are putting healthy foods into your body!

This blog post will explore different ways that we may already know and some new ones on why choosing healthy foods are important not primarily for physical wellness but additionally because they’ve psychological benefits too.

The mind needs sugar in order to work properly. If you have a diet that is always high in carbohydrates your mind will run on an even keel, if not it can lead to feelings of tiredness and fatigue.

Eating too many carbs without enough protein can also cause elevated levels of the stress hormone cortisol. When this happens we are more likely to experience symptoms of anxiety and depression which may be why people who eat diets higher in fat often report feeling less anxious than those with lower intake levels. This is just one example of how choosing healthy foods for psychological reasons as well as physical wellness makes sense!

A diet that is high in carbohydrates will keep your mind working properly, but you may also experience feelings of tiredness and fatigue if you don’t get enough protein to balance it out. The most common symptoms of depression are sadness or tearfulness. You might find yourself feeling a sense of guilt or worthlessness, loss of interest in activities that used to make you happy, weight gain/loss without trying, changes in sleep patterns; these are all signs something could be going wrong for you.

You might find yourself feeling anxious in certain situations, hypervigilant or as if you’re always on high alert (even when nothing is happening). You may feel isolated and withdrawn from others, disinterested in your appearance; these are all signs something could be going wrong for you.

If any of the signs I’ve mentioned sound at all familiar to you – it’s time to seek help! It doesn’t have to be that bad before you do something about it — there are a lot of people who live with depression their whole lives without ever actually getting diagnosed because they think “it just comes with life.” That’s not true though: anything can happen day-to-day but we need some way to cope with it.

What you need is some way of managing your symptoms, a strategy for dealing with depression when you feel like you can’t do anything else!

I’ll be talking about how therapeutic food really can help ease the symptoms of mental illness and make life more manageable in this post – there are lots of ways that eating good food (or doing other healthy things) has been shown to impact both physical health and mental well being. Eating too much sugar makes us very energetic but also agitated and anxious, which isn’t so great for someone who’s feeling depressed all day long. You may find yourself bingeing on sugary snacks because they make you feel better for a little while – but then you crash harder and find yourself feeling even worse than before. That’s not awesome, is it?

One thing that has been shown to help people with depression who are on medication is getting more exercise! Exercise can increase serotonin levels in your brain, which will improve how you’re feeling. You don’t need to become a gym rat or start training for an endurance event either – the important thing here is just being active every day. Walking around the block once or going up one flight of stairs each time you go up and down them counts as well 🙂

It seems like everyone these days wants quick fixes when they’re struggling from mental illness; unfortunately there aren’t any shortcuts!
